Oklahoma City, OK – Crews from OKC Utilities Line Maintenance are working to repair a ruptured 12-inch water main located near North Pennsylvania Avenue and Northwest 36th Street. As a result, both eastbound and westbound lanes of Northwest 36th Street, from North Penn to North Westmont Street, are temporarily closed to traffic.
Officials expect the lane closures to remain in place until repairs are completed, which is anticipated by 8 p.m. today. While the repair work is ongoing, residents and drivers in the area may experience brief disruptions in water service.
At this time, the cause of the water main break has not been determined, but crews are working diligently to restore service and reopen the affected lanes as soon as possible.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize congestion while the repair efforts continue.
