Oklahoma City, OK — Authorities in Oklahoma County have made six arrests in connection with a violent kidnapping and robbery that occurred near Edmond in June 2024. The suspects, who are all facing multiple charges, were apprehended following an investigation into the kidnapping of 43-year-old Isabel Brown.
Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III announced the arrests at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, naming the suspects as Dallas Jacquet, 39; Brandon Ford, 43; Kadarryus Caples, 24; Harron Jennings, 28; Gordon Scott II, 33; and Demerce Dennis, 29. The men are facing charges including conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, conspiracy to commit robbery, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping for extortion.
The incident began on June 14, 2024, when a Kasey Alert was issued for Isabel Brown, who was reported missing after being last seen near NW 178th St. and MacArthur in Oklahoma City. According to investigators, Brown was forcibly abducted by several masked men outside a coffee shop in the Edmond area. The men, who were reportedly armed, seized her phone and transferred $10,000 from her CashApp account. Additionally, they took $250,000 in cash from her car.
Sheriff Johnson confirmed that Brown was beaten and tied up during the ordeal. In a statement, he advised the public, “I would always suggest not to carry around that much money because, once it’s gone, it’s gone.”
The investigation later revealed that the suspects were part of a larger drug trafficking operation based in Texas. The group allegedly purchased large quantities of marijuana from an undisclosed seller in Oklahoma City, which they would then transport back to Texas for illegal sale. Jacquet is believed to have been the mastermind behind the operation, directing and funding the drug trade.
On July 5, 2024, authorities in Dallas arrested Kadarryus Caples in connection with the kidnapping. Caples was extradited to Oklahoma County on July 10, where he joined the other suspects in facing charges.
Authorities believe the kidnapping was an act of opportunity. “We don’t believe that she knows him. We believe that they saw her driving by and took the opportunity,” Sheriff Johnson stated. The suspects reportedly followed Brown’s Tesla after spotting it near the marijuana transaction site. They abducted her outside the Coffee Jerks coffee shop in Edmond after she made a stop.
Investigators were able to identify and locate the suspects through a combination of video surveillance footage from Brown’s Tesla, Flock cameras in the area, and phone records. “These flock cameras and cameras on the Tesla ultimately led to these bad guys being apprehended,” Sheriff Johnson remarked.
The case underscores the growing use of technology in law enforcement investigations. It also highlights the dangers of large-scale criminal operations, which can have devastating consequences for unsuspecting victims. As the investigation continues, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
The six suspects remain in custody, facing significant legal consequences for their roles in the violent crime.
