OKLAHOMA CITY, OK— A deadly head-on collision early Tuesday morning at the intersection of 84th Street and Western Avenue has claimed the life of one man and sent another to the hospital.
According to the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD), the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. Authorities responded quickly to the scene where they found two vehicles involved in the collision.
One male occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other involved party was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. The condition of the hospitalized individual has not been released.
Western Avenue has been closed at the crash site, and police have indicated that the closure will remain in effect for an extended period as investigators work to determine the cause of the accident.
OCPD has urged drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while the investigation is ongoing.
