Enid, OK – Enid Fire Department carried out scheduled hydrant flow tests across multiple areas of Enid, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, May 20, as part of routine water system maintenance and fire safety preparedness.
According to the department, the testing was conducted to evaluate water pressure and flow capacity in different parts of the city’s hydrant system. The work helps ensure firefighters have reliable water access during emergencies and assists in identifying any potential issues within the infrastructure.
The scheduled testing areas included several streets and neighborhoods throughout the city. The locations listed were:
- Mockingbird Ln to Seneca Ave between S Johnson St and S Van Buren St
- E Cambridge Ave to E Cornell Ave between N 4th St and N 7th St
- Chisholm Trl to W Oxford Ave between N Van Buren St and Chisholm Trl
- Ridgeview Ave to W Owen K Garriott Rd between S Garland Rd and Demla Ct
Residents in the affected areas may have experienced temporary changes in water pressure or brief discoloration during the testing process. Officials typically advise running taps briefly after such operations if water appears cloudy.
The Enid Fire Department noted that these routine hydrant flow tests are an important part of maintaining emergency readiness and ensuring the city’s fire protection system continues to operate effectively.
