Electrical Arcing Blamed for House Fire in Enid

ENID, Okla. — A house fire on West Maple Street in Enid, Oklahoma, was caused by electrical arcing in a kitchen appliance, according to the Enid Fire Department. The incident occurred on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 2206 W. Maple.

Emergency dispatch received the first call at 3:12 p.m., reporting that the home was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the house completely consumed by the fire. Fortunately, no one was inside at the time of the blaze.

The Enid Fire Department’s investigation determined that the fire started due to electrical arcing, which is typically caused by a malfunction or fault in electrical wiring or appliances. The fire department did not release additional details about the specific appliance involved.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire, but significant damage was done to the home. Officials have not yet provided an estimate on the total loss.
