Oklahoma City Student Arrested After Bringing Loaded Gun to NW Classen High School

Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma City Police have released new details surrounding an alarming incident at NW Classen High School that led to the arrest of a student last week. Authorities report that on the morning of January 29, the student arrived at school with a loaded 9mm Beretta handgun, bypassing the school’s security scanners by entering through the gymnasium.

After making his way to his morning classes, the student allegedly showed the weapon to several other students during his third hour. At one point, he reportedly loaded a live round into the firearm while still in the classroom. The situation prompted concerned students or staff to alert authorities, who swiftly responded to the scene.

Body camera footage released by the Oklahoma City Police Department showed officers entering the classroom and finding a magazine hidden inside a chip bag, presumably linked to the weapon. Law enforcement officers took the student into custody without further incident.

Authorities have not released the identity of the student or any specific charges at this time. However, the situation has raised concerns about school safety and the effectiveness of current security measures. The police department continues to investigate the case, and the school is likely to review its security protocols to prevent future incidents of this nature.

This arrest serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts needed to ensure the safety of students and staff in schools across the nation.
