MCALESTER, Okla. – Authorities are currently searching for 35-year-old inmate Hunter L. Bowers, who reportedly walked away from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center on Thursday evening.
Bowers was last seen at approximately 8:53 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the correctional facility in McAlester. He is serving a six-year sentence for domestic assault and battery with a weapon, a conviction originating from Choctaw County.
The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is urging anyone with information regarding Bowers’ whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately. They have advised the public not to approach him if spotted and to call 911 instead.
As of now, officials are working to track down the escapee and bring him back into custody.
