OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection to a violent attack on a bride-to-be from Oklahoma during her bachelorette trip to Dallas.
Trevon Woodards, 27, was apprehended on Friday in Bedford, Texas, following an incident that left Canada Rinaldi, the bride-to-be, with multiple injuries. According to reports from NBC DFW, the assault occurred in the early hours of the trip and has led to a series of serious injuries for Rinaldi, including a concussion, a broken nose, three broken teeth, and eight stitches.
Rinaldi, who spoke with News 4 last week, shared the extent of her injuries and emotional trauma following the attack. “It was just supposed to be a fun trip before my wedding, and it turned into a nightmare,” Rinaldi said. “I never expected something like this to happen.”
The violence escalated when one of Rinaldi’s bridesmaids, Kelly Peralta, attempted to intervene and help Rinaldi during the assault. Peralta also sustained injuries during the altercation.
Following an investigation, Woodards was arrested and booked into the Tarrant County Jail in Texas, facing multiple assault charges.
The incident has sent shockwaves through Rinaldi’s community in Oklahoma, as friends and family rally to support the victims. Many have expressed their disbelief and concern over the tragic turn of events during what was meant to be a celebratory occasion.
As of now, Woodards remains in custody, and authorities continue to gather details surrounding the motive behind the attack. The case is still under investigation.
For Rinaldi and her bridesmaids, the road to recovery is just beginning, as they cope with both the physical and emotional aftermath of the assault.
