OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — Authorities are searching for a 44-year-old inmate who escaped from the Clara Waters Community Corrections Center in Oklahoma City on the evening of Monday, May 26.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC), William D. Brainard fled the facility at approximately 8:25 p.m. Officials have not disclosed the circumstances of the escape but confirmed that an internal investigation is underway.
Brainard is described as a white male standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 215 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Notable identifying features include several tattoos: the word “LOVE” on his right arm, a “cross” on his left arm, and “CORN FED” on his left forearm.
The ODOC has urged the public not to approach Brainard if spotted, as he may be dangerous. Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911.
The Clara Waters Community Corrections Center, located in northeast Oklahoma City, is a minimum-security facility that typically houses inmates nearing the end of their sentences. The facility emphasizes rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
As of Tuesday morning, Brainard remains at large, and authorities continue their search.
