MIDWEST CITY, Okla. — One person was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after a shooting in a residential neighborhood near NE 10th Street and North Air Depot Boulevard, according to Midwest City police.
Authorities say the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. The injury was described as non-life threatening.
Following the shooting, the victim attempted to drive themselves to the hospital but was only able to make it as far as NE 10th Street and Midwest Boulevard. Police have not released details on why the victim stopped at that location.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot immediately after the incident. As of Monday evening, police had not released a description of the shooter, and no arrests have been made.
Investigators continue to search the area and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Midwest City Police.
The shooting remains under investigation.
