Initial information suggested that a male subject was possibly firing a weapon outside the residence.<\/p>\n<p>As officers arrived at the scene, they were informed that the suspect had fled the area. Officers quickly pursued him on foot and caught up with him in a nearby backyard, a couple of houses down from where the incident began.<\/p>\n<p>During the ensuing confrontation, one officer discharged their firearm, striking the suspect. Police later confirmed that the suspect\u2019s injuries were not life-threatening. No one else was injured in the exchange, and the identity of the suspect has not been released to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors in the area, like Gerardo Macias, were taken by surprise. &#8220;We didn\u2019t know how to react,&#8221; Macias said. &#8220;It was like a surprise for me, because I think the surrounding area is a quiet space.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Oklahoma City Police Department has not released further details regarding the officer\u2019s actions or the circumstances leading up to the use of force.
