According to Trout, her son was shot twice\u2014once in the left side of his head and again in his lower abdomen. The attack left Zach fighting for his life, and doctors warned his mother that, should he survive, he would likely be dependent on a ventilator for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"722\" data-end=\"1130\">However, against all odds, Zach Dixon defied the medical prognosis. While he survived, the aftermath of the shooting has left him permanently altered. Sharon Trout described the toll the attack has taken on her son, noting that while he is able to walk, he struggles with mobility and has limited use of his left arm. \u201cHe walks, he drags on the left side. His left arm is pretty much useless,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1376\">Despite the immense physical and emotional pain her son continues to endure, Sharon Trout remains determined to seek justice. Unfortunately, two years later, she says the case appears to have stalled, leaving her and her family without answers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1607\">The mother of three is calling on anyone with information about the crime to come forward. \u201cHe deserves justice. We deserve justice. This has changed our entire lives,\u201d she said, her voice filled with both sorrow and frustration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1609\" data-end=\"1886\">The details surrounding Zach\u2019s attack remain unclear, and authorities have yet to make significant progress in identifying a suspect or establishing a motive. The lack of leads has left the family feeling increasingly helpless, with each passing day adding to their heartbreak.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1888\" data-end=\"2258\">Zach Dixon\u2019s survival against the odds is a testament to his strength, but Sharon Trout knows that true healing will only come when the person or people responsible for this senseless violence are held accountable.
