Upon arrival, deputies attempted to make contact with a woman at the home. However, Barnett opened fire on law enforcement officers, sparking a deadly shootout.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"880\">During the exchange of gunfire, two deputies, Captain Tom Kutay and Deputy Kayoomars Niroomandi, were struck by bullets. Both deputies were quickly transported to a local hospital and, after receiving treatment, were released with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"882\" data-end=\"1146\">As the situation escalated, Major Greg Randolph, a third deputy at the scene, returned fire at Barnett. The suspect was shot and fled the area on foot. Barnett was located a short time later, unresponsive, and was pronounced dead at the scene after backup arrived.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1461\">Sheriff\u2019s officials confirmed the fatality and expressed relief that the two injured deputies survived the confrontation. Both Captain Kutay and Deputy Niroomandi are expected to fully recover from their injuries. The incident is currently under investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1463\" data-end=\"1720\">Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the domestic dispute or Barnett\u2019s history.
