OKLAHOMA CITY, OK \u2014 Over 350,000 Oklahoma voters are being urged to confirm their addresses as part of a routine effort to maintain accurate voter rolls. The Oklahoma State Election Board has begun sending out \u201caddress confirmation notices\u201d to voters, and officials are stressing the importance of responding to these notices within 60 days.<\/p>\n

Misha Mohr, a spokesperson for the Oklahoma State Election Board, emphasized that the process is vital to ensuring that the state\u2019s voter rolls remain clean and up to date. \u201cIt\u2019s extremely important for people to respond to that address confirmation notice because it helps us ensure that those voter registration rolls are clean and accurate,\u201d said Mohr.<\/p>\n

The board is required by law to send these notices every two years. The recipients of the notices are typically voters who have had an undeliverable first-class mailing returned to their county election board, those with duplicate registrations in other counties or states, or individuals who have not participated in a federal general election within the past two years.<\/p>\n

Voters who receive the confirmation notice have 60 days to respond. Failure to do so will result in their status being marked as \u201cinactive.\u201d According to the Oklahoma State Election Board, voters who remain inactive will be removed from the rolls after the 2028 General Election unless they either update their registration or vote in any election before that time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe quickest way to respond is online, through the Oklahoma Voter Portal,\u201d Mohr explained. Alternatively, voters can fill out the provided card and mail it back to the election board.<\/p>\n

Not all voters will receive an address confirmation notice, but those who do are encouraged to respond promptly. Mohr urged, \u201cIf you do receive the notice, we want you to respond as quickly as possible to ensure your registration remains active.\u201d<\/p>\n

For more information or to respond to an address confirmation notice, voters are advised to visit the Oklahoma Voter Portal or contact their county election board.<\/p>\n

This routine effort highlights the state’s commitment to ensuring accurate voter rolls and minimizing errors during elections. Voters are reminded to stay vigilant about their registration status to avoid any disruptions in their ability to vote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
